The IT Support Technician will support both hardware and software problems under the direction of the IT Manager.
Key Functions:
• Sets up and configures desktop computers, peripherals and accounts assigning security level.
• Installs software and installs and repairs hardware and peripherals.
• Tests programs.
• Troubleshoots, diagnoses problems, implements corrective action procedures within prescribed guidelines and/or escalates to other technical resources as appropriate.
• Maintains systems, databases, and web pages.
• Administers user accounts.
• Designs and produces basic reports.
• Sets up and submits production jobs and edits and debugs computer output.
• Transfers computer files between platforms.
• Provides basic troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance for computer equipment (e.g., microcomputers, disk drives, and laser printers) and may assist with testing personal computers and peripherals on a network to diagnose, hardware versus software problems.
• Acts as a customer liaison for the computing operation, communicating, resolving, and/or initiating the resolution of problems and concerns.
• Arranges for distribution of output to customer.
• Maintains records.
• To perform any other reasonable duty as requested by management.
Technician Responsibilities:
• Provides assistance in the use of personal computer hardware, software, and specialized mainframe technology or operates a multi-platform computer environment or monitors the production scheduling, execution, and successful completion of production jobs.
• Assisting Operations Department who encounter complex problems and malfunctions while working on the floor.
Working hours: 8 pm - 2 am (Vietnam time - please convert this one into your timezone), Mon to Fri (with 2 additional flexible hours, total 8 hours/day)

Operations and Support
Support and coach end users in the correct and effective use of the school’s ICT resources (hardware and software)
Handle incoming support requests from end users using the Service Desk System and ensure that users receive appropriate help in a timely manner.
Keep up to date with current technology, hardware, operating systems, general productivity software and be prepared to make recommendations to the Helpdesk Supervisor, to support continuous improvement of provision
Produce support documentation, user guides, and maintain an ICT support knowledge base.
Log support calls and take appropriate action to ensure a satisfactory response with acceptable time frames in line with the department’s service level agreement.
With Helpdesk Supervisor to manage IT Assets/Technology equipment, dispose of expired equipment and recommend IT Network Manager to buy new equipment needed for the school.
Engineering and Provisioning
Install, test and maintain a variety of personal computing and network hardware and software systems, with local area network and wide area network connections
Configure, deploy and maintain classroom and office ICT hardware and software applications
Perform diagnostic tests, modify or repair desktop hardware, including PC, printer, data projector and peripherals
Collaborate with other departments and third parties to meet end users’ expectations.
Maintenance
Undertake and record periodic preventative maintenance checks/cleaning of ICT resources and follow-up issues as required
Physical
To carry and move ICT equipment around the school campus. Involving some heavy lifting.
Must be willing to travel to other campuses or offices which belong to BIS as required.
