Job purpose:
- The Delivery Manager of Digital Platforms Services is responsible for successfully delivering projects as well as maintenances of Digital Platforms that he will be assigned. He/She will be required to make technical decisions and work closely with cross-functional business areas and all other IT teams including Regional Office and Corporate teams. Additionally, He/She will support the Head of Digital Platform Services and participate in selecting, testing and rolling out new technologies that provide improvements and keeps pace with current trends of the industry.
- This role will be also responsible for people planning, hiring, develop and driving the team toward the continuous evolution and improvement of Sun Life’s digital transformation.
- Besides, this role will also support the CIO and Head of Digital Platforms Services to build advanced digital platforms, increase automatic operation capabilities, and create a breakthrough competitive advantage in the market.
Major accountabilities:
Leadership
- Provide technical leadership of the units
- Build strategic direction for teammates, vision and roadmap for Digital Platform transformation
- Up to date on market trends to explore how emerging technologies can benefit the company, and propose the most suitable migration plan from existing technologies
- Work closely with IT team leaders to ensure effective cross-functionality
Resourcefulness
- Effective stakeholder and change management to ensure new technologies are effectively adopted
- Handle multiple tasks and priorities effectively to ensure changing business needs and regulations/guidelines are fulfilled while driving products quickly to market
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage 2-4 squad teams

- Review existing work processes and identify new ways of working and/or improvements to have continuous efficiency improvements
- Continuously study, assess new technologies and identify the most suitable technologies with reference to the technology trend and competitors in insurance industry
Delivery and maintenance:
- Ensure responsible platforms are operated effectively within limited of resources, promptly resolving any defects and have a quick recovery plan in every situation
- Enhancement and continuous improvement on own platforms to meet business expectation
- Deliver new solutions to align to modernization plan of Digital Platform Services
- Develop a strong team to solve challenges, create a solid foundation for other teams to succeed together

Specialized knowledge:
- Expertise in software, database programming languages, architecture, design patterns, frameworks
- Strong knowledge and experience with software development life cycle methodologies
- Strong analytical, communication, interpersonal, problem solving, organizational and time management skills
- Excellent influencing skills and ability to develop and maintain good relationships
- The ability to manage and interact in a matrixed organization is essential
- The ability to think “outside the box” and develop creative solutions to complex technical and process problems
- Handle multiple interrupts and be able to multi-task effectively

Education and experience:
- University degree in IT or equivalent
- At least 2 years experience of people management
- At least 2 years experience in managing a software delivery team at the exception level
- At least 6 years experience in delivery and maintenance of application platforms by using advanced technology
- Good communication in both English and Vietnamese
Management scope:
Total number of staff managed (direct and indirect): > 10 (following the growth of buisness)
