Information Security Engineer

The Role

The Go1 Information Security team is expanding to ensure we can effectively protect the data and systems of Go1 learners and support Go1 reaching 1 billion learners securely. The Information Security team has a broad scope within Go1 from governance, incident response, security architecture and application security. 

As an Information Security Engineer, you will develop a deep understanding of the Go1 platform focusing on how we secure the systems and data of our learners as well as working closely with our Security Analyst(s) on building automation to support our incident response procedures. This role will have a heavy focus on scripting/software development and will report to the Information Security Manager. 

What does an Information Security Engineer do every day at Go1? 

• Work with the Go1 Engineering team in reviewing the security impacts of new product features and changes to existing software 
• Supporting the Information Security Analyst by building integrations or automation to solve common information security tasks 
• Triage and replicate externally reported security issues with the Go1 platform (primarily application vulnerabilities) 
• Identify security issues or security improvements relating to the Go1 Platform and work with the engineering teams to mitigate or implement fixes
• Support the Information Security Analyst with incident response tasks where applicable
• Work with external penetration testing providers during our regular testing
• Support other departments in Go1 such as IT and Engineering to implement security tooling appropriately
• Provide support relating to Go1 compliance requirements such as ISO 27001 and SOC 2
