About the team
Our Technology team is the backbone of our business. The team is responsible for building a reliable, scalable and compatible platform for our product and services. Our Engineering team consists of talented and passionate engineers that focus on Full Stack (Back-end & Front-end), Mobile, QA across the regions and work closely with Data, Infrastructure & Security, Product team and with the cross functional team to continuously improve and scale our products forward.
About the role
You work on a modern technology stack (Java, mySQL, Docker, Kubernetes) to build the next-generation healthcare services that serve 2.5 million patients across Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Philippines. As Software Engineer II, you will be responsible for end-to-end feature development and deployment. You will contribute to all aspects of the SDLC — architecture, design, implementation, code reviews, testing, and production on-call support. The ideal candidate has strong ownership, good communication skills, enjoy working in highly collaborative and fast paced environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize engineering efficiency.
- Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
- Write clean, maintainable, and performant code.
- Define practical technical solutions that consider the time-sensitivity of projects, as well as their business and system requirements.
- Assist with estimating work efforts required for each phase of a project.
- Keep up-to-date with latest industry and technology trends.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field
- 2+ years of experience as a backend software developer, with a strong focus on Java. Experience with Spring Boot framework, a plus.
- Excellent problem solving and debugging skills.
- Strong understanding of software development principles, data structures, and algorithms.
- Knowledge of software development best practices, e.g. version control, CI/CD pipeline, IaC, automated testing principles
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience creating clear and concise technical documentation for complex systems.
- Owner’s mindset - you’re eager to get out of your comfort zone and take on any challenge that moves the business forward -- regardless of whether it’s part of the “job description”.

Preferred Qualifications (not required, but will make you stand out from the crowd):
- Experience developing in a distributed systems architecture.
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies e.g. Docker, Kubernetes
- Familiarity with healthcare data standards such as FHIR, HL7
