How you will make an impact?
The online shop for delivery customers called M.Shop is the core of the online business of Metro and the place where all delivery orders of Metro customer are placed.
You will join M.Shop - Customer Inspiration and Assist, which is the core team around all customer related aspects within the M.Shop. We manage favorite article lists for our customers, we provide customer information to other teams inside M.Shop and the login functionality for both customers and employees is provided by us as well.
Your Responsibilities:
- Collaborating in a cross functional product team and with other teams on solving customer problems by delivering product functionalities and support;
- Being involved in all phases of software engineering, from inception to coding, testing, delivery and operation;
- Developing high quality code that follows best practices and clean code principles;
- Advocate for improvements to product quality, security and performance;
- Collaborating with other engineers or team members on various layers of the infrastructure, in order to design and launch new features;
- Interacting with the client in order to understand and characterize their needs and advise them if necessary.

- shy away from discussions about the best solution for a problem at hand, every opinion counts and your impact matters!

We are using the following technology stack:
- Kotlin, Java and Clojure (for backend);
- JavaScript with React framework (for frontend);
- Cassandra as database;
- Solr for searches;
- Kafka for queuing;
- Docker for containerization;
- Kubernetes for container orchestration;
- Google Cloud Platform for hosting our infrastructure;
Required key competencies and qualifications:
- You have 4+ years of relevant experience with a micro service architecture;
- You are proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: Java or Kotlin;
- You feel at ease working with our technology stack mentioned above;
- You are ready to leave your comfort zone for a long dive into our current and future technologies;
- You are able to communicate fluently in English (written and verbal).
