This job posting is for the Database Administrator position in our Wizeline APAC team. Here's what you'll be doing in your day-to-day work:
- Reviewing and optimizing the performance of our production MariaDB, Postgres and MongoDB applications on relevant AWS platforms
- Working with Engineering teams to help design data tables and indexing strategies. Being able to work with Engineerings to simplify and optimize complex queries
- Implementing CDC solutions to a production standard; i.e. performant, highly available
- Investigating and resolving production issues as they arise; taking steps to prevent future occurrences of the problem
- Work as part of an agile product team, participating in all aspects of the agile process and ceremonies

Must-Have Skills
- Experience tuning MySQL/Maria/PostgreSQL database engines for optimal query performance. MongoDB (ideally Atlas) would be a distinct advantage.
- Experience working with Engineering teams to improve table and index design as well as help optimize SQL.
- Experience configuring log shipping from MySQL clusters and using CDC technologies such as Maxwell, Debezium and Kafka to transport data to PostgreSQL reliably.
- Experience in managing large datasets in a production environment.
- Experience planning and executing Database Version upgrades
Nice-to-Have Skills
- AWS Database Specialty certifications
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with AWS Cloud products (EC2, EBS, S3, Lambda, Dynamo DB…)
- Hands-on experience with operating high-uptime databases in both AWS and on-premises environments.
