A bit about the role
You will be working in an agile environment providing data science and data analytics to support GFG as a leader in the online retail space.
At GFG, Data Scientists solve business problems which have a direct impact on customers and the business. For example:
- Personalisation / Product Recommendation
- Natural Language Processing (LLM)
- Forecasting
- Optimisation
- Customer Lifetime Value Prediction
- Marketing Channel Attribution
What you will do:
- Work with large streaming datasets to gain insights, train predictive models and measure results.
- Be involved in the full product life cycle.
- Develop scalable and innovative ML solutions.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time and budget.
- Ensure documentation of important decisions and proposed solutions.

What we are looking for
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
- 5+ years experience in a similar role
- 3+ years experience in Python
- 3+ years experience in statistical modelling
- Proven experience of building scalable machine learning models
- Proficiency in writing well-structured, maintainable, and readable Python code, with a good understanding of object-oriented programming and other programming paradigms.
- Ability to explain complex analytical concepts to people from other fields or business stakeholders
- Experience in producing visualisations to make analytics accessible to all
- Strong ability to craft raw data and analysis into well-written content, and translating insights into decisions and actions that have a direct business impact
- Ability to translate complex business problems into practical machine learning solutions, and iterate on them quickly to drive business impact
- Expertise in SQL
- Degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Decision Science, Mathematics, Information Management or other relevant technical field or equivalent work experience
Ways to stand out from the crowd
- Professional Software Engineering experience
- Familiarity with A/B testing methodology
